It's all about God, and he is in charge! As his child you are secure in his love and keeping. Like a child loves his father and demonstrates that love by pleasing him, so we express our love for God by seeking to please him in all we do.

If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever - the Spirit of Truth. . . Jesus said, "If anyone loves me he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." John 14:15-17a, 23

The Holy Spirit enables each believer to grow spiritually, to overcome failure and adversity, and to live a life of obedience and confidence that honors God. Here are some things that we recommend to help you grow in your relationship with God:

1. Read your Bible daily; it is God's word to us; maybe begin with the Gospel of John;
   
2. Talk to God in prayer daily; he wants to hear from you
   
3. Tell others about how they can know God; they need to know
   
4. Be a part of a church that is a worshipping and serving community of people where you can be encouraged to grow in your faith and knowledge of God.
   
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
