Children's Ministries
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL
Children’s Sunday School provides regular study and application of God’s Word. Concepts and methods are tailored for each age-level of childhood. Classes are offered for children ages two years through sixth grade during the first worship hour, and for children ages two years through fourth grade during the second hour. There is also a class during the second hour for young adults with special needs.
CHRISTIAN SERVICE BRIGADE (BOYS BRIGADE)
Christian Service Brigade, a.k.a. Boy's Brigade, is for boys in first through twelfth grade. This ministry promotes Christian growth and responsible living through the knowledge of God’s Word and the example of Christ-like adult leaders. A typical Wednesday evening includes games, a Bible lesson, Scripture memorization, guest speakers and activity time. Special activities are scheduled throughout the year. CSB meets September through May at FBC on Wednesdays, 6:45pm to 8:00pm.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR
The children’s choir, for first-through sixth-graders, usually meets during the school year on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to noon. The choir meets for the joy of singing as well as to prepare various songs and programs to present in our services. The choir will not be meeting in the first half of 2010. Stay tuned for the Fall season!
NURSERY
Nursery is provided for Infants and Toddlers (up to age two) during regular worship services and for many special church activities. Our nursery is equipped with pagers for parents and a high emphasis is placed on the safety and well being of all children in the nursery (see "Child Safety" for our policies).
This important ministry provides parents the opportunity to worship corporately and serve God. If you enjoy caring for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers or if you like to do behind-the-scenes work, please let us know by sending an email to the address on the left.
PIONEER GIRLS
Pioneer Girls is for girls in first through sixth grade. The aim of this ministry is to glorify Jesus Christ through ministering to girls. In PG, girls have fun, learn new skills, build relationships, study the Bible, and ultimately, learn to live for Christ in every aspect of life. Visitors are welcome, and participating girls are encouraged to invite their friends.
Pioneer Girls meets September through May at FBC on Wednesdays, 6:45pm to 8:00pm. Additional activities such as the Mother/Daughter Tea are scheduled through the year.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)
Every summer in June the adults and teens of our fellowship collaborate to lead children through a week of Vacation Bible School (VBS). The focus of VBS is to share God’s truth and love through an exciting week of games, crafts, Bible lessons and music. We have a six-year cycle of Biblical lessons that takes us through the Bible from Genesis to the Revelation.
The summer of 2011 will be a sabbatical year for regular VBS. Stay tuned for other children's opportunities that will be offered this summer.
While VBS is only one week long, preparation begins months in advance and requires many hours of behind-the-scenes work.
